We are told it is the dream of every girl to be swept off her feet and carried away by a brave knight on a powerful white charger. Down through the ages the storytellers and balladeers have told of the heroes who fought and sometimes died for the one they loved. From the wondrous pen of Sir Walter Scott has come this poem of a highland youth who came out of the west to win the fair Ellen of Netherby clan. For Lochinvar has grown in to a legend of daring and chivalry and it has come to stand as a symbol for the man who can fight for and win the girl of his heart.

Host: Regis Toomey

Based on the poem by: Sir Walter Scott
