Today's story tells of the trailblazing expedition of Captains Lewis and Clark in 1804, through an uncharted wilderness to the Pacific Northwest, a vast territory known in history as the Louisiana Purchase. Theirs is a bright and brave chapter in the history of our then-new nation. Tonight we pay tribute to the courage, daring and diplomacy of the two young American leaders.
