This is a wonderfully engaging story about a country lawyer. As the story begins, Marshall Fanning, Attorney at Law, is standing outside his home at Fort Mason. From the mail box, he extracts an official looking envelope, and as he slowly walks back to the house, he begins to read a letter, inviting him to submit the details of his accomplishments in his life, since he had once been named as the man most likely to succeed...
