Lum and Abner’s contest for the best suggestion on spending Diogenes Smith’s $10,000 gift to Pine Ridge didn’t turn out so well. None of the suggestions were worthwhile so the old fellows awarded the prize box of groceries to the most needy contestant Mr Ulysees Quincy. Mr Quincy immediately demanded that they carry out his suggestion of building a toll bridge in the town.
