At one moment, the mighty earth dam that had been built by the settlers to hold back the waters of the Lobo river, stood as firm and solid as the neighboring hills, but at the next, there was a terrifying sound as the dam walls burst! A scant half hour later, some distance below the site of the dam, a masked man and an Indian raced toward the angry stream, intent on rescuing someone from the roof of a house hurtling down the river.
