Knute Rockne was an American football player and coach. He is regarded as one of the greatest coaches in college football history. Football was the center of young Knute's life. In grade school and at north division high school, he played football and he played it well. After finishing high school, he had no money for college, but after washing windows, working on a ferry boat and taking a few shifts in the Chicago post office, he saved a thousand dollars and then got himself into Notre Dame University, where his career began.
