Matt called early to the saloon to see Kitty. There was a party the following night a dance to benefit the new school and Matt plucked up courage to ask Kitty to go with him but she turned him down. Kitty was concerned at what the “ladies” would think him taking a hostess from the saloon but Matt was not going to take no for an answer.
