Marie Marlow halted her dogs, bending her head to protect her face from the merciless sting of the ice flecked wind. A small dog jumped from the sled, following her through the snow to the door of the cabin. Barking furiously, her and her dog enter the cabin, and she is surprised to find her husband, Phillip, bandaging the injuries of a native in the cabin.
