Grant Adamson leans back in the heavy leather chair behind the broad mahogany desk set diagonally across the corner of his office and tried to appear relaxed as he reached for a cigarette. Inside he was trembling, his stomach full of sick fear and he knew the man sitting across the desk from him could see it. This was no time to let down the bars though. He looked past Dave Mathews shoulder and out the window and gazed fondly at the stacks and chimneys that now covered more than an acre of ground – Adamson Chemicals Incorporated and all of it right down to the last paperclip in that shiny mahogany desk at stake hanging on Dave Mathews decision…
