Captain Frank Kennelly is on the night tour, 4pm to 8am, and it had been a busy night at the precinct. There had been a fire at a tenement, a pedestrian killed by an automobile, an armed robbery of a delicatessen, and a mugging of a hospital orderly by two youths as he walked from his work to the subway. Things had quieted down now though, which had left some time to complete reports.
