Jimmy Durante is the Master of Ceromonies, but the show is opened by Ken Carpenter, who introduces the wonderful Judy Garland who sings a touching rendition of Embraceable You, and then reads out some of the messages received from the forces overseas. Bing Crosby then sings Sunday, Monday or Always, before the two of them join forces to perform a beautiful duet.
