After learning of the fate of their son, this morning Mrs Ferguson has awoken in a panic, convinced that she has seen her son, and that he is alive. She seeks confirmation from Paul Temple, who it seemed wasn't at all surprised by her outburst. It leaves them in a difficult position, so they begin to go through Mrs Ferguson's story, no matter how fantastic it may seem, to see if they can piece things together.
