Ranchers don’t take kindly to horse thieves. Tillman claims that he found them horses running wild and was driving them back to Jake Kyser and Benson. However he and some other ranchers don’t believe him and lynch him anyway. Then Jennings turns up and tells them that Tillman is innocent and really was rounding the horses up. When Jake goes to tell Tillman’s wife and son he is very matter of fact and all he can say is sorry and that he guesses the jokes on him and the other ranchers.
