Inspector Faraday in an effort to keep Blackie from investigating the murder of John Cummings pretends to discredit Boston Blackie’s alibi that he was in Central City and puts Blackie in jail. Cumming’s killer, Eddie Manton murders the only man in Central City who can alibi Blackie and Faraday lets Blackie go after pointing out to him that only by proving the case against Manton can he clear himself.
