The obituary in the paper said that Seaman Joe Norman had died the victim of a hit and run accident and had been buried today at sea in accordance with his life long wishes, a voyageur of the oceans. It went on to say that his wife Ethel Norman survived him. However Joe Norman was staying in room 6 at Slate Shannon’s hotel and tells Slate and Sailor that the night he was supposed to have been killed he was in Banyu’s Turkish bath.
