When Jim and Muriel Blandings finally moved in to their new home in the country everything was ready. That's what the architect said and the contractor and the landscaper. of course they didn't mention that the well would cave in,and it did, that the doors wouldn't open,and they didn't, or that the sprinkler system wouldn't sprinkle which it doesn't. Through all these things Jim's patience bore up pretty well but last week brought the breaking point. Jim and Muriel decide to sell the house but neither of them really wants to. So when Jim lists it with the estate agent and a vendor is coming to view it they do their best to put them off!
