The Lone Ranger and his faithful Indian companion, Tonto, listened with interest to the old timer they had met on the trail outside Freeport. They were talking about a poor fellow called Jason Lang, who seemed to be the unluckiest fellow around. He had three wives and had to bury them all. He had four children and had to bury them too. Bought a stage line before the railroad came in, sold it and bought beef, but then lost every critter during a drought. After that, he decided to prospect for gold, but never found anything. Two weeks after he pulled out, a new fellow came and struck his pick where Jason had been digging and uncovered a vein that yielded half a million before it thinned out. Yes Jason Lang brought bad luck to himself and everyone around him...
