Jim Buck was driving the stage from her on in to Dodge and was going to look after 17-year-old Miss Linda Bell. Also riding on the stage is a guy named Joe Bassett who Jim doesn’t like the look of and Marshall Matt Dillon. When trouble ensues Matt forces Bassett to ride up front. Bassett warns Matt he’s going to wish he’d never seen him. Matt tells him he’s wishing that all ready. Linda has run away from home to marry Lou Paxton in Dodge but she is worried that there may be a lot of men like Basset in Dodge.
