We left Sonny and Buddy in a very bad situation the truck had run out of oil and Doc and the sheriff left in search of a filling station. Charcoal and Betty had remained in the house-car while Sonny and Buddy wandered out in to the desert to play on the sand dunes. But, they failed to notice the sand storm blowing up and in a few moments they had lost their sense of direction and their eyes were filled with sand as they became lost on the desert.
