Helen Wright, brilliant, erratic with an edge of contempt for herself and for the world in which she moves is married but also very much in love with a young concert violinist, Paul Boray a few years her junior. Helen Wright helps Boray financially in his brilliant career. Boray loves her but music will always be his first love and jealousy ensues.
