Simon Templar and his taxi driver get lost and end up at a restaurant called the Happy Hamburger. After eating there they leave and are stopped on the road again by a puncture. Then they discover a dead man who appears to have been murdered. They take the dead man back to Mr Lawton owner of the Happy Hamburger to see if they recognise him as their hired hand. However when they go to their car trunk the corpse has mysteriously vanished.
