In the days of the old west, homesteads dotted the vast stretches of the prairie and the mountain slopes - land granted to the pioneers provided they did the required work on their acreage. About a hundred miles west of the trail, two men rode along one side of a homestead, which ended at a high bluff. It was George Cranfield's homestead, who only stayed at the homestead for two months each year, which is one of the requirements.
