Brit Reid’s had been working overtime in his office at the Daily Sentinel and his secretary was taking notes of his conversation with a man named Skyler. Two men across the street from the Sentinel building watched the window of Reid’s lighted office and saw Skyler shake hands with Reid. Skyler had given Brit Reid information about the liquor smuggling racket but no names. But as Skyler left the building he was knocked down and killed by a hit and run taxicab.
