In a brownstone tenement, someone has killed Jimmy Bruce's mom. When Danny and Detective Muggavan arrive, they find her dead from a bullet wound - sprawled across the kitchen table, and young Jimmy in shock. Danny tries to talk to the young man, when a woman knocks on the door who saw the assailant running away from the scene.
