Chris finds out that he has incurable Leukaemia and has one year at most to live. He realises that his year is suddenly very precious to him and with the help of the kind, caring young servant girl Eileen who came to his aid he decides he is going to spend the year giving his wealth away to people who need it and along the way they fall in love.
