Philip Marlowe had decided Sunday afternoon was a good time to catch up on neglected bookkeeping when he found a special delivery letter in the letterbox. He ripped it open and a crisp $50 bill slipped to the floor. He figured his client had a heart of gold but after he was beat up double crossed and shot at he realized just how hard a heart of gold can be.
