John Wakefield Edwards is a retired businessman in his late sixties who has a straight life policy worth $150,000. His wife had died a few years ago and his beneficiary was his adopted daughter Marilyn. Mr Edwards wanted insurance investigator Johnny Dollar to go and see him but under no way was Marilyn to know he was coming. It all seemed mighty suspicious especially when Johnny Dollar arrives at the same time as Marilyn Edwards to find John Edward dead.
