Hopalong Cassidy calls this adventure Gunhawk Convention. It began one day in Eastern Arizona where he had made a big trail drive to a rancher who had paid $10,000 in gold. It was too much to carry so after sending the crew back to Ranch Bar-20. Hoppy and California rode in to the town of Bismark to exchange the gold for a bank draft but when they arrived in the town it seemed mighty quiet and at the bank they were in for an unpleasant surprise.
