Guadalcanal Diary is based on the book by war correspondent Richard Tregaskis who wrote the story just as he saw it happen on the island of Guadacanal during World War II.

Stars Preston Foster as Father Donnelly, Lloyd Nolan as Hook and William Bendix as Taxi all reprising their original 1943 Warner Brothers screen roles.
