This four part story includes episodes 026 through 029. Roland Fletcher aka The Grey Goose was rather sorry to see his old friend Inspector Ford pilloried in the press so he telephoned the Clarion news editor from a call box and told him that he, the Grey Goose resented the imputation that Ford's failure to catch him was due to collaboration. When he returned to his flat he found it had been ransacked. Fortunately his store of feathers had not been discovered. Just as Barbara Faversham had come to the conclusion it was a woman inspector Ford turned up and thus he learned that his call to the Clarion had been misunderstood...
