When the trail riders hit town Chester commented to Matt that he couldn’t understand how a trail riders thinks. They spend two months or more working the trail North then they hit town with a pocket full of pay and go out and throw it away in one night then they’re flat broke again until they get back to Texas. That night trail riders in Dodge came out of the saloon whooping and hollering and shooting off their guns and one of the bullets hit Red’s wife. He vowed to Matt find out who it was and get his revenge.
