Lum and Abner are busy in the restaurant opening oysters as they are expecting some customers after Lum's announcement.

Grandpap is no longer working for Lum and is now working for Squire Skimp selling insurance. Squire Skimp treats Granpap to lunch, of his favorite dish, oysters and Granpap is not happy when he chips his tooth on a little round rock in his oyster. The four fellows realize its a pearl and all end up squabbling over who owns the pearl.
