Five people sit in the shadow of the great carved chimney piece which rises above the mantle to the high ceiling. About a dark table of oak they hold hands. Four of them watch Cynthia as she goes into a trance and watch for the manifestations from beyond. The room is dark and brooding enough to raise satan himself but nothing happens. A ferocious storm is raging outside and Cynthia's nephew stays for the night but not in a bedroom he is planning on staying in the room where a poltergeist is said to visit.
