In these days of national pride, Gertrude Lawrence finds herself in the rather enviable position of having been born in England of an Irish mother and Danish father, and on demand will produce documents to prove that she arrived in the world on 4th July. This gives her tangible claim to no less than four countries, which would like to have her as its own. In today's show, she performs Miss Bent Bows, by Vernon Crane.
