Three sisters are heiresses to a huge fortune after their mother dies on the Lusitania, and their father is killed in France. One of the sisters marries a man called Charles Barclay, but he begins a campaign to obtain the Fifth Avenue mansion the girls have managed alone, in order to tear it down and use it for a real estate development, but she vows never to let that happen, after making a promise to her father twenty three years before.
