“Frontier Town, the saga of the roaring west. Frontier Town, El Paso, Cheyenne, Calgary, Tombstone, Frontier Town. Here is the adventurous story of the early west the tamed and the untamed. From the Pecos to Powder River, Dodge City to Pocoflat, these are the towns they fought to live in and live to fight for. Teeming crucibles of pioneer freedom, Frontier Town.”
When I first listened to this show recently it reminded me of Gunsmoke. The sound and whole feel had a striking similarity but in Frontier Town the lead character is town lawyer Chad Remington who grew up in the town of Dos Rios, Spanish for two rivers but then left to go to Law school. When he received news that his father had been murdered he came back to Dos Rios to bring to justice his Father’s killer. With his sense of fairness and justice just like Matt Dillon in Gunsmoke, Chad is intent on making Dos Rios a better place to live in. Like Matt Dillon’s “sidekick” Chester, Chad Remington also has a “sidekick” in the form of the hard-drinking livery stable owner, Cherokee O’Bannon.
Unfortunately, there were only 47 episodes of this show made but fortunately they are all still in existence.
