The commissioner wants Steve to pin down a man who has been playing hide and seek for the past two weeks. The Mediterranean defence preparations were delayed due a car bombing in Algiers, and the man claims to know who is responsible for it - so Steve is being sent on assignment to the French Alps, where he manages to solve a murder, by getting hit on the head with a rock!
