The elderly patients at the formidable isolated Green Briar Sanatorium had been restless all day, and now that night is closing in, and the intensity of the darkening clouds increase, the doctors and nurses double their rounds. The resident psychiatrist Dr Paul Thurman has begun his nightly round of the third floor. Patients on this floor, although completely harmless, do need his personal attention. Most are alone in the world, deserted by friends and family. He pauses for a moment outside one of the doors because he hears an unfamiliar voice...
