On the fourth floor landing of a tenement near to the river, there lays the body of Francesca Brown. A girl, with her beauty strangled out of her, and the blood from her knife wound finding the cracks in the wooden floor, glinting in the sallow light of the 10 watt bulb. She was a waitress from Harper's Grill, and Danny is there to investigate, which will begin with talking to her husband who is in the apartment.
