Ann Williams receives an anonymous tip that an important news story may break at the Telhaven Estate of Willis J. Baldwin tomorrow. A ball is to be held there late in the evening at which Mrs Baldwin will wear her famous diamond necklace, which is purported to be worth over a million dollars. The anonymous letter says that Ann musty arrive there at 6.pm and say nothing to the police, the Baldwin’s or anyone else about the letter. Of course Casey and Ethelbert don’t count.
