Three nights in a row the Great Gildersleeve has called on Doris and stayed late burning the midnight oil but the Great Gildersleeve should worry he has plenty of oil! But the Water Commissioner’s annual fiscal report was due last Monday and judge Hooker drops by and tells Gildy that if he doesn’t get the report in by tomorrow the mayor will fire him. There’ll be no burning the midnight oil at Doris’s tonight!
