The world has changed in many ways. There was a time when a man's home was his castle, and every man was king. This doesn't necessarily mean that his wife was a queen though. What it meant was that his word was law, and that everybody in the house obeyed it, or else! Or else what? Well, it didn't come up often enough to be very much of a problem in most places.
