Sam Spade has an appointment with Hilary Bright. Mr Bright wants Sam to be present at his Halloween Masquerade Ball tonight a party to include twenty uninvited and colourful guests to come as themselves. At the party the engagement of Wilma to Ralph Kran was to be announced but Wilma ended up dead.
