Matt Bard is an expert surgeon whose sister Kim is engaged to Jay Norton son of a wealthy and important family in the town. Jay asks Matt to arrange him a full medical check before he gets married. When Matt gets the results he discovers that Jay has an aneurysm, which could explode at any time and kill him. He knows that without an operation Jay would die and his sister would be heartbroken but with an operation there would be only a fifty per cent chance of survival.
