As an Educational feature NBC present this medieval play Everyman. Performed as an allegory is regarded as the finest example of the English morality play and it is itself an illustration of the close historic relation between the church and the drama. Translated from its Dutch original and produced in English around 1529.
Bishop William T. Manning, who speaks about the paly before the performance, gave permission to broadcast this production from the nave of the cathedral of St John the Divine in New York City, the largest gothic cathedral in the world.
