Pat is sat in his office reading Time Magazine when the door opens and an incredibly tall man walks in with a voice like a bassoon. The stranger turns out to be priest and he wants to hire Pat Novak to run an errand of mercy - to help a man break out of Alcatraz. He wants him to pick up a man, Joe Feldman, who is due to break out of Alcatraz that night.
