Mary takes the white evening gloves she has found to inspector Ferguson and asks him to send them to his lab technicians to see if there are any traces of the rope which was used to kill Oliver Wilson on them. The inspector tells her that she could be getting herself in to serious trouble if she is wrong about the gloves. Later Larry tells Mary to stop interfering and to leave everything to his solicitor.
