For many hours, Mary and her unwelcome house guest, Claudia Vincent, have been waiting in the living room of the Noble's home in Long Island, for Larry's return from the theater in New York. But, as luck would have it, he stayed on long after the play was over, and when he finally did arrive home, almost at dawn, he found both Mary and Claudia in the kitchen. A cheerful 'hello' causes Mary to drop the glass she's holding, which sends her into a fit of sobbing, much to Larry's consternation...
