Jan Darvis was a displaced person living down on Bullerton Street who went to the police to complain about some kind of a hold-up being pulled on him and he was liquidated. It seems Darvis was being forced to pay protection money and when he complained he had been beaten up possibly by a corrupt cop who had not meant to murder him but to leave him badly beaten as a warning to any other DPs who thought to complain.
