The last we saw of Gildy back in June he was left at the altar by the Widow Ransom. Two months have past but the mark of that fateful moment is still upon him, Gildersleeve today is a changed man. For the past week he has been vacationing at the hotel on the shore of picturesque Grass Lake where he’s come to seek forgetfulness and such solitude as he can find in the company of his niece and nephew.
